Galleon is Here!

Here it is folks, the first draft of my ports of the Galleon Forums plus my article. If you know anyone who's been dragging their feet or indecisive about choosing a framework to work with, pass this article along to them.

Let me know if you have any corrections or additions.

- If there's interest I may set this up as a separate project here on RIAForge.

Enjoy!

Sean Corfield's Gravatar You might want to add a link to the ZIP in the text of your blog post. It took me a while to figure out that I had to click "Download"...

Maybe you could post the article separately from the code to encourage more people to read it?

Sean Corfield's Gravatar Re: Fusebox 5.5:

cfset request.FUSEBOX_PARAMETERS.allowImplicitFusebox = true

That's incorrect. It should not be in request scope. The skeleton application is correct (without request.) so I'm not quite sure what you were doing wrong for it not to work. Setting it as a request scope variable is definitely incorrect tho' (and shouldn't even work).

ike's Gravatar re: download - yep, will do the extra link - and I'll see about finding a decent place to post the article separately, that's a good idea.

re: fusebox_parameters -- I about hit the floor laughing when I read your response... I dunno what to say other than that maybe it has something to do with this trick I used to get around CF8 application-specific mappings issues: http://ontap.riaforge.org/blog/index.cfm/2008/5/27... -- I'm not sure why it would be different for Fusebox in particular, but I know FB was the only framework I had to modify after I used that workaround, so it's interesting that you say that my copy is working when it shouldn't be. :P Actually I think it's pretty hilarious. :)
